About Bungy Japan
Bungy Japan brings over 13 years of bungy experience from both Japan and New Zealand to offer Japan’s only bridge bungy jump. Our highly trained staff of bungy professionals are enthusiastic promoters of outdoor adventure and personal challenge sports here in Japan.
Bungy Japan is committed to the philosophy of personal challenge, and we strive to provide a positive and rewarding experience in a safe and controlled environment. We believe that bungy jumping is an exciting chance to face your fears, test your will, and realize your own potential, offering an experience that you’ll never forget.
We take pride in helping every jumper discover the inner strength to overcome their fears by providing an extreme test of courage in a safe, professional but fun environment.
Bungy Japan was established by Charles Odlin, who helped bring bridge bungy jumping to Japan in 1995, and has since worked on three different sites around the country. After several years working with AJ Hackett Bungy in Auckland, Charles realized the true potential of bungy jumping not only as a participation sport but as an attraction for people of all ages to enjoy. Charles believes that bungy jumping not only provides a personal sense of achievement for the jumper, but also acts as a source of recreation and economic growth for local communities.
Safety
Safety is our number one priority!
Before you jump, you will be weighed and the bungy equipment calibrated to take account of your body weight. To ensure each jumper’s safety, we strictly adhere to safety procedures which include double- and triple-checking equipment. Our operating manual follows rigorous guidelines and itemized checks designed to eliminate human error. In addition to our series of safety checks, we only use the best equipment available. Our equipment is checked on a daily basis and all equipment is replaced at the start of each new season.
To further guarantee your safety we have at least two New Zealand Jumpmasters present at every site, all of whom have been certified to New Zealand safety standards. In addition, locally employed Japanese staff get the best training available from certified Bungy Japan Jumpmasters.
Experience
Bungy Japan brings over 13 years of experience in the bungy jumping industry to Japan. We also bring world-class standards of safety and professionalism to the industry, by adhering to New Zealand safety standards, and further basing our procedures on site and training manuals from over a dozen sites worldwide.
In addition to the the original Kawerau bungy jump site in New Zealand, our fully trained Jumpmasters have worked on eight sites around the world, ranging from a 25-meter jump in a Tokyo shopping mall to the 134-meter Nevis Highwire AJ Hackett bungy jump site.
Staff
Bungy Japan believes that its greatest strength is its staff. Our staff are here to provide the best all-around experience, which is individually tailored to each jumper in terms of both safety and fun. All staff are trained according to New Zealand safety standards, speak Japanese, and are certified nice people. For safety and friendly smiles, at least two New Zealand Jumpmasters are present at every site.
